OUR 2021/2022 Season

Our Committee is continuing to take account of current Government guidance in place relating to Covid-secure rehearsals and performances for amateur orchestras.     Our 2021/2022 season has been informed by this guidance:

16 October 2021: TWO CONCERTS IN CELEBRATION OF OUR 25th ANNIVERSARY
St Michael and All Angels Church,  Amersham

Concert 1: 4.00-4.45pm  Short’n’Sweet: 25th Birthday Children’s Concert

LION AND MOUSE

This family concert includes short extracts of pieces we will be playing in full in our 6 o’clock concert. As well as giving entertaining descriptions of the music between pieces, our conductor will tell the story of The Lion and The Mouse. This is a concert for all children, however small and fidgety and nobody need worry about stern looks from the conductor – except members of the orchestra! This short concert is an excellent introduction to live music and a chance for children to learn the difference between the violin, viola, ‘cello and double bass.  Adults £6, Children FREE

Concert 2: 6.00-7.30pm 25th Anniversary Concert
Our 25th Anniversary programme features well-loved pieces from Scandinavian and English composers, chosen to reflect the many musical colours of our collection of stringed instruments: violin, viola, ‘cello and double bass. Sit back and experience the wistful dreaminess of Delius’ Two Aquarelles; the folksong-inspired melodies of John Rutter’s Suite for Strings; the toe-tapping dances in Grieg’s Holberg Suite and Warlock’s Capriol Suite; be taken back in time by William Walton’s music for Olivier’s 1944 film Henry V and energised by the stirring music of Dag Wiren’s Serenade. A highly varied and unmissable programme of inspirational music.  Adults £12, Under 18s Free.

Tickets for both concerts are available only online using this link:  https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/chiltern-camerata
